Empower your Child to Build their Own Future
School teaches children to follow instructions. The future belongs to those who can build businesses.
Even if your child's school is good at academics, they aren't learning how to:
- identify an opportunity
- turn an idea into something real
- handle failure - and to get back up and keep going
- talk to customers
- understand money
- build confidence
At our Business Builders Camp, learners don't read a textbook about business, and they don't play business.
They build, test, sell and learn - for real.

Why did we start Business Builders?
Global economic change threw our family into a crisis.
Entrepreneurship is how we survived.
Our Story
How the Falkensteins turned a crisis into opportunity
David was an hermano lejano - he left El Salvador to study engineering and started a finance-related business in New York. Shannon was a science teacher who was ready to settle down and start a family.
We got married in 2007. David wanted to return to El Salvador.
In 2008, pregnant with our son, we packed up everything and moved.
Soon, the 2008 financial crisis hit.
By 2010, with a baby and toddler, our business closed.
We had no generational weath.
We had no safety net.
We had two babies depending on us.
And we were in a country with terrible violence and insecurity.
We had to make a choice: leave or stay and build.
We chose to stay and build.
David turned a homebrew hobby into Cadejo Brewing Company.
Shannon turned her passion for education into Acton Academy El Salvador.
Nothing about our story was handed to us. We created opportunity through our grit, perseverance, creativity and our stubborn refusal to give up.
Cadejo has grown to 12 restaurants and offers dignified employment to more than 300 Salvadorans and Guatemalans.
Acton Academy El Salvador offers an authentic Montessori preschool and an innovative modern alternative to traditional school to hundreds of families.
Now we want to help young people learn the skills that helped us transform crisis into opportunity and improve El Salvador.
We want your children to learn how to see possibility, how to take action, and how to turn their ideas into something real that serves the world.
Because the future is not given to us, we have to build it.
Big ideas build El Salvador.
